It’s time to mix up my monthly goals a bit. I have found that although my 5 main focus’ for the year is good and all I’m neglecting other goals I’ve set for myself. I’m mostly talking about the 101 goals I want to accomplish in 1001 days. I recently updated my 101 in 1001 post and realized I still have a lot to get done and I have less than a year to do it. So, we must add them to the August Goals post.
101 in 1001
1) Have an epic water balloon fight with the kids.
2) Enroll the boys in music lessons.
3) Enroll the boys in a sport.
4) Write letters to myself to be opened in 1 year, 5 years and 10 years.
5) Answer the “50 Questions to Free Your Mind”.
I think 5 is pretty reasonable to accomplish in a month and if I check more than that off I’ll let everyone know.
In August I really want to dedicate more time to this blog including a big revamp! I also want to start making videos after a 14-month hiatus. I really want to post one blog post and one video a week. I’m really shooting for consistency here. I’d also like to get my house in order. Although things are coming together nicely, more still needs to be done. In August I want to set up my family room complete with furniture and decor. I also want to finish Dessa’s room which has been an ongoing project for weeks now.
It’s time to get that gym membership this month. We have a YMCA about 5 minutes from our house that is offering a membership for $12 and I’m going to snap that up. I’m also going to dedicate time 2 days a week to going and burn off some of my lumpy bits. On top of that, I’m going to cut out some of the more unhealthy food I eat and replace it will fresh fruit and vegetables.
Right now a lot of my interests have been fixing up my home and finding new and interesting things to do in my new city. In August I want to start checking off some new and interesting things to do in my new city. One of those is to take Odin to a donut shop in the Twin Cities that is supposed to be one of the best. Another is to take the kids into Minneapolis and show them all of mine and Nick’s old haunts like where we went to college and where we lived. I’ve already talked about setting up some of my house so no need to repeat.
As much as I want people to treat me like an equal, I should also treat people as my equal. In August it’s going to be all about learning patience and self-awareness of what I say.
There are so many personal things that make me discontent and they are so big and complex that I can’t fix them by myself. This month I’m going to start seeing a therapist. It’s something I’ve wanted to do for a while and now is the time. If I’m being honest here, I’m actually really excited to go and talk to someone who can look at my situation objectively.
