It’s better to be open than to close yourself off- Although I know this is probably true, it isn’t something I practice or want to. I learned that at a young age being up to others can leave you vulnerable to be hurt. I would like to be open with other, and a very few I am, but I just don’t feel comfortable with the people around me right now to do that.
Life is always open to new possibilities- I also think this is true but, again, I feel like life circumstances for me makes me feel very stuck and that new possibilities really aren’t coming my way. Maybe it is me unconsciously not being open to new possibilities or not making new possibilities for myself.
For every challenge, there’s a solution- I think this is true. There is always a solution even if it means that the solution is to stop and change directions.
Self-awareness has the power to transform- I totally believe this. If you know yourself well you know what your limits are and when and how to push them. You can trust that you are making the best decisions for yourself and lead yourself down the path you chose. I think you trust yourself to change and transform for the right reasons.
A person’s outer life reflects their inner life- I thought this was a belief of mine to begin with but it really isn’t for me. I think many people can put on a good show in their outer life that has nothing to do with their inner life. I know plenty of people who seemingly live a happy life but deep down inside feel empty and alone.
You get what you give- This gem is something I live by. What I put into something or maybe someone I can most times get back. Karma, so to speak. I think that if I do nice things, nice things will come to me at some point. If I’m always a negative Nancy, then only negative things will come back to me. It’s a good rule in my opinion.
Life is always changing and it is scary sometime but good- The only constant is change and that’s good. Change in any form, in my opinion, is good. It means things are growing and means that no matter how stuck I feel, I’m not really stuck. I don’t always like the changes because things being different and unknown is scary but sometimes it’s exactly what you need.
It’s good to grow as a person- I hear a lot of people who say “I’m never going to change, I’m always going to be me.” I think that is stupid. In life, you grow. You grow from an infant to a toddler to a child, to a preteen, etc. until you are old and gray and then after you die your hair and nails keeps growing. Life is meant for growth and I was not meant to be the person I was yesterday. I’m meant to be the person I want to grow into.
