Weight & Length: 16.4 pounds and 28.54 inches
Sleep: Dessa is not sleeping through the night anymore. She has been waking up at midnight and then again at 2 a.m. It isn’t too bad though because she just wants to comfort nurse and then goes right back to sleep. She then wakes up for the day at around 5 a.m. and goes to bed around 7 or 7:30 p.m.
Eating: Dessa has been eating solids since she was 6 months old. She definitely prefers fruit over vegetables but this month she has started eating puree meats. She doesn’t really like them but she tolerates it better than vegetables. She also loves her banana strawberry oatmeal that she eats almost every morning for breakfast and she has also started eating Lil’ Crunchies by Gerber. They are like little baby Cheetos that dissolve as soon as they get wet. She really likes the mild cheddar and cinnamon maple flavors.
Clothing: Dessa is still wearing size 3 diapers and 9 month size clothing. When I was pregnant I thought I’d be putting her is cute little outfits and dresses and tights but that didn’t happen. She mostly wears long sleeve onesies with matching leggings or sweatpants now that the rainy season has started in Seattle. She does have some very cute shoes but she hardly ever wears them. They fall off all the time and don’t really keep her feet warm so she mostly wears just socks or her knit booties if we go out.
Baby Gear We Love: Recently we got Dessa foam floor mat. We have hardwood floors and Dessa wasn’t wanting to crawl on because it hurt her knees. So we order a floor mat from Amazon and she has been very happy to have her own little play area and space to crawl on, not that she stays on it.
Likes: Dessa loves, and I mean LOVES, dancing. She’ll pull herself up and just shakes that little diaper booty until the music stops. She also likes cuddling with her blanket when she’s tired. She loves to be held but also likes to crawl when she’s feeling independent. She likes having her hair brushed and then chewing on the handle of the brush.
Dislikes: She doesn’t like vegetables which is upsetting but not surprising. She has a lot of moments where she doesn’t want to be set down or put in her car seat. She also really doesn’t like when you take things from her, especially if it’s food she’s not supposed to have.
