Ah, the first month of 2018 is over. I didn’t do any goals last month because I really wanted to figure out where I was going with my intentional goals. I gave myself a month to think it over and now I have my February 2018 goals!
After getting back from my relaxing vacation in Florida I’ve noticed that I’m more productive. Probably because I’m rested and had a nice break away from the monotony of everyday life. In February I want to keep the momentum going. My plan is to get myself into a good routine. This is something I’ve struggled with since moving out on my own but I’m an adult now and it’s time to hold myself responsible. So this is how I want my day to roughly look like.
6 AM – Wake up and get ready for the day
6:30 AM – Make breakfast for the kids and get them ready for school
7:20 AM – Get kids out to the bus
7:30 AM – Get Nick out to the bus/ Get Dessa ready for the day
8 AM – Start a load of laundry, run any errands that need getting done or start zone cleaning
11 AM – Make lunch for Dessa/ Switch over laundry
11:30 AM – Put Dessa down for a nap/ Start any homework I have or work on the blog
3 PM – Fix kids afternoon snack/ Fold and put away laundry
5 PM – Start cooking dinner
6 PM – Dinner
7 PM – Either bathtime or family time
8 PM – Kids go to bed/ 1-hour pick up
9 PM – Nightly routine
11 PM – Lights out
Don’t worry, I am more than aware that I will need to be flexible with this routine. This schedule is just what my perfect day would look like.
This month I want to move more. After spending a week in Florida mostly walking I realized that I need to move more throughout my day. I roughly average 3,500 steps in January so in February I want to double that. That means a monthly average of 7,000 steps a day.
In February I want to read more. I spent a total of 9 hours on a plane and in that time I got through more than half of my book. I forgot how much I enjoyed reading until there was nothing else to do but read. I want to read for either 1 chapter or 1 hour a night.
This goal isn’t really monthly but is constant and that is to stick up for myself and my decisions. Everybody seems to think that they get to make decisions for me or tell me what decisions I should make. Not this month Satan!
This goal goes hand in hand with my goal to move more. I want to get outside more. Here in Seattle, especially this time of year, it can be hard to go out as it’s constantly raining. But on the few days that it doesn’t rain I want to get outside. There are so many parks, trails and places that I and the kids haven’t seen yet. It’s time to bundle up and go explore.
