This month was an exciting month. So much happened, from completing bucket list items to having a baby! It was simultaneously the best month and the most annoying month. It brought lots of highs and surprisingly few lows. It was a really good month so here is what happened.
January In Review
1. What was my biggest accomplishment this month?
Giving birth to my amazing daughter Dessa Elowyn at home, all natural!
2. What is your biggest challenge right now?
Adjusting to life with 2 kids and a new baby while trying to maintain the positive direction my marriage and relationship with my husband has been going. It’s hard juggling everything on not a lot of sleep and with limited time!
3. What things should you do differently?
Communicate better and except that not everything can happen on “my time.”
4. What do you want less of in your life right now?
I can’t say there is anything I want less of right now. Things are pretty good and it may be the hormones but I’m pretty happy with everything.
5. What do you want more of in your life right now?
Money, baby cuddles, time, boy hugs.
6. What situation have you learned most from?
I would say that the birth of Dessa taught me that being patient is a good thing and that all good things take time. When things are ready they will naturally come, just like she her.
7. Who/what are you thankful for this month?
I’m thankful for my husband, my sister, my 2 amazing boys and of course my beautiful new daughter. I don’t know how I would have made it through Dessa’s birth without my husband and sister to support me. My amazing boys carried me through the month before their sister got here and little Dessa is just the most beautiful, amazing, calm baby. She is perfect!
8) How did the monthly goals go?
The monthly goals went pretty well I think. I did sign up for 100 Happy Days but wasn’t able to take a picture everyday like the rules say you have too but I did take 20 out of 31 pictures so that isn’t too bad.
I did schedule 3 bucket list items. Two for January and 1 for February. I did the two I scheduled for this month so goal completed!
I didn’t check my budget daily but I did check it multiple times a week and we didn’t really stick to our budget but we didn’t overdraft. But because I was checking our budget so often I caught that someone had stolen our debit card and had spent $75 in Philadelphia, which obviously wasn’t me. We caught it so fast that the cards got cancelled before they could spend anymore and our bank returned the $75.
I did make both a daily and weekly cleaning schedule but being 9 months pregnant wasn’t conducive to all the things I had to put on there so actually completing the tasks was hard. Thank goodness for family though because once my sister got here both her and Nick knocked most things off the list and had the house looking good.
Meditating. Yeah, I’m going to be honest, this was the biggest flop of all my goals. I only meditated twice this month. I completely failed. I couldn’t concentrate for shit and was just not in the head space to sit around and think of nothing. I had a baby coming, I had family coming, I had a house to take care of and two other kids. Too much was going on and I just couldn’t do it. Sorry.
