April Goals Recap
Stick to my morning and nightly routines. Success! I did this very well this month. By no means was I perfect but I feel like most days I did this. I struggled more with the nightly routine than the morning routine because at the end of a long day I am just not interested in getting up to do more things. With that being said, I still did a good job of this and most days it was accomplished.
Post at least 4 blog posts and 4 YouTube videos this month. I was half successful on this. This month I posted 7 blog posts which is over the minimum for the blog but I only posted 2 YouTube videos. I did film enough content for 5 videos but if I don’t edit and post them than it doesn’t count. Sorry to all my YouTube followers out there.
I want to knit hexipuff a day. I was not expecting this one to be hard but it really was. If I had knitted 3 hexipuffs a day I would have knitted 90 hexipuffs. I only knit 9. That is an epic fail! Knitting them was more time consuming than I thought it would be and I just didn’t have the time to sit around and knit those buggers.
Work on my How-To Etsy course. I failed this one too. I only worked on my course 3 times the entire month. So clearly, I should have dedicated more time to it but just didn’t. There are no excuses. I just need to work on it more next month.
Keep taking pictures for my 100 Happy Days Challenge. I missed 5 days out of the entire month of April which is really good. I also sometimes took multiple pictures in 1 day so I could try to catch up on all the pictures I missed in March. So, I’d say that was a success.
Spend less time on my computer. More times than not I’m in front of my computer or phone and I’m tired of that. I want to step away from the screens and actually do more instead of watching others do more. So, I am going to track how much time I spend on my computer and decrease that time throughout the month and see much time I can shave off on screen time.
Start walking. It isn’t realistic for me to say that I am going to take a walk every day but I could walk 3 times a week. I have a step counter and I am going to track the number of steps I take in a week and then start taking walks 3 times a week and see how many steps I can add every week.
Dedicate more time to the kids. Every Friday I want to dedicate the evening to the kids. We used to do movie night with popcorn and blankets which I want to do and I also want to do a game night every so often. I also want to dedicate 1 day on the weekends to doing things they want to do. We might not be able to spend the entire day doing what they want but an hour or two spent at the park or playing in the yard is doable for us.
Wake up by 7 A.M. every morning. I have been pretty good about waking up early these days but I want to make sure that I am up by 7 A.M. every day. Well, I actually want to be waking up earlier than that but I’m more realistic these days and no I will slip up a lot until waking up early is routine to me.
KonMari and Zone Clean the house. I find that I thrive in a clutter free house, as do most people. In the past, I have mentioned the FlyLady and how she “zone cleans”. I now how a zone cleaning checklist in my bullet journal and want to start checking things off. On top of that, I want to get rid of a bunch of stuff we don’t need or use. The best way for me to do that is to KonMari. I have an app on my phone that will help me tackle my entire house.
April Feel Better List Recap
In April I wanted to do 5 things to make myself feel better. I wanted to give you recap on how I did.
The first thing I wanted to do was spend the day at the salon and I did! My eyebrows are now on fleek and my hair is about 10 inches shorter. It was nice to spend the day being taken care of and relaxing.
The second thing I wanted to do was get my ear pierced which I also did. It hurt like hell and is actually still hurting a little bit but I love it. I kind of feel like a badass and I’m really happy that I did it.
I also went to the movies by myself, which was kind of weird. Like a lot of people, I have never been to the movies alone but I was tired of waiting around until I could find a babysitter or just going to see kids movies. Although it was uncomfortable to go alone it was also really nice. I got to choose the movie I wanted and didn’t have to share my popcorn or soda and got to pick where I wanted to sit. It was really nice to just do everything I wanted without having to be considerate of others.
I did not make it out to Fort Ward or the SEA Discovery Center. There was more rain than I expected and when it was nice out we normally had other plans. That’s okay though because we can just do it next month and I already did a lot.
May Feel Better List
- I am going to go to my local art museum by myself. I have been wanting to go since we moved but once again, I always feel like I need someone with me. I’m over that and I’m just going to go and enjoy my time browsing art.
- I will definitely be going to the Bloedel Reserve and I will be taking my camera with me. I have been patiently waiting for the weather to warm up and get sunny so I can stroll the 150-acre reserve.
- The last things I’m going to do this month are the 2 unfinished items from last month, Fort Ward and the SEA Discovery Center.
This month’s list is a bit shorter than lasts but that’s okay. We have a lot more going on this month than we did in April so I know I won’t be bored or craving too much time out of the house.
